ALICE VISITS DALI MUSEUM
Alice took some time out of his schedule in Florida before his concert in Tampa this past Saturday in order to pay a visit the Dali Museum in St Petersburg. Alice did a short Q&A session with commemorate the 40th anniversary of Dali’s 3D holographic piece titled “First Cylindric Chromo-Hologram Portrait of Alice Cooper’s Brain” which depicts Alice Cooper using a Venus De Milo statuette as a microphone whilst wearing a tiara and wearing two million dollars worth of jewelry. Placed behind Alice was Dali’s sculpture of Alice’s brain, covered in a chocolate éclair and then covered in ants. The entire piece is a rotating 3D hologram and was way ahead of it’s time.
Alice recalls his first encounter with the sculpture of his own brain; “I remember him (Dali) coming in the room with his entourage. He came up to me and said ‘This… is the Alice Cooper Brain.’ “
I said, “Wow that’s amazing! Can I have it?”
“Dali gave me a look and quickly waved his hand and quipped, ‘Of course not it’s worth millions!’ I’m still looking for the brain to this day. It’s my golden fleece. I just know it’s must be a paperweight on someone’s desk somewhere!”
