Alice Cooper raises the dead at Pearl at the Palms

Legendary Detroit rocker Alice Cooper, dressed in a black-and-red striped suit with skull belt buckles, started the Thanksgiving Week holiday by bringing his “Raise the Dead” tour to Pearl at the Palms on Wednesday night.

After a curtain emblazoned with “welcome to my nightmare” was drawn, the Pearl stage sparked with pyrotechnics and revealed the band and the ghoulishness of an Alice Cooper set.

ImageCooper’s band includes Australian guitarist Orianthi, known for being the lead guitarist in the late Michael Jackson’s ill-fated concert series “This Is It” and her hit “According to You.” She is reportedly the first female to play in Cooper’s band.

Cooper’s setlist included his hits “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Under My Wheels,” “House on Fire,” “Hello Hooray,” “School’s Out” and “Poison” for a Wednesday night of rock and roll.

At age 65, Cooper’s illustrious career spans five decades. Thanks to contributing photographer Tom Donoghue for his photo gallery.
