REVIEW – Alice Cooper proved to be more than just another concert, but more like an EXPERIENCE

I’ve been going to rock concerts for nearly four decades now so it’s pretty hard to throw something at me that will truly leave me feeling amazed. Well those boundaries were not only tested last Friday night at EXPRESS LIVE in Columbus, Ohio, they were absolutely blown away by the legendary Alice Cooper and his band.

For whatever reason every time that I had the chance to see the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer, something always came up to make it impossible to visit the venue he was frequenting at the time. And after finally getting to see ‘The Godfather of Shock Rock’ live, I’m not real happy that I was denied those previous opportunities.

Not only would I consider what I saw one of the top 10 shows I have seen during the past 38 years, I might be hard-pressed not to put it at the top of the list. Not only was there theatrics throughout the show, there were theatrics throughout the show being done by a man who is 68 years old, and doing them with what looked like relative ease (I can only hope to be walking at that age).

As if that wasn’t enough, he was singing songs that I remember as a teenager and taking me back to a time that were full of great memories. Not only did he do that with his hits but there were also a few covers thrown in by other rock legends, I’ll get to that in a little more detail later in the article.
