Shock rockers of the world unite! Here’s a battle specifically for you, as Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper pair up in this Devil Horn region first round matchup in the battle to find the greatest live act in hard rock and metal.

As fans who have seen Rob Zombie know, he puts on a treat for the eyes as well as the ears. From the stage props to the backdrops to the look of each member onstage, there is something for everyone to take in. But while the visual side is cool, Zombie also has a killer live band with the guitar great John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish rounding out his live show.

Alice Cooper, meanwhile, was doing theatrical stage shows back when Zombie was just a young lad. Known for incorporating guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and sword duels into his performances, Cooper has long been a must-see live performer. But aside from the theatrics, Cooper has smartly kept himself surrounded by stellar players.

So will you vote for Rob Zombie or does Alice Cooper earn your nod for the better live act? Let us know by voting in the poll below. You can vote once per hour through the deadline of Tuesday, July 14 at 10AM ET.

Alice wins! Now I want to know when I can pre-order that new album!

I’m NOT gonna choose. I’ve seen Alice live about 15 times and NEVER thought “tonight was not his best”. I’ve seen Zombie live about 8 times and with or without a big live show – he’s always spot-on too. Then I could debate “Alice is a legend – he’s been around longer” but then Zombie is the absolute best artist to fill Alice’s boots and continue his legacy with his own music and stuff. Both are pretty much equal to me.

alice the first the best . best there is best there was and will ever beeeee!!!!

  • For me it’s a toss up…… The first time I saw Alice was back in September, 1969….. That’s right 1969…… Alice Cooper has always been more than great and a just real nice person ( I got to know the band )….. The last show I saw with Alice was in Lima, Ohio just last winter…… And the first time I saw Rob was about 20 years ago with Korn and again just a month ago in Sylvania, Ohio…… Standing on the rail in front of the band was fantastic…… Took my 20 year old Grandaughter to the show for her birthday… Just fantastic…… Great show, nice sound system and the 2ed time I went home from a Rob Zombie concert and could still hear…… It’s not fair to decide who’s better as they are both more than great…… I just plain enjoy them both…… They broke the mold with these 2….. Got a bonus at the Rob Zombie show….. Pouring down rain, cold, and got to meet John 5….. Super nice and more than a fantastic guitar player…… Just 1 more thing off my Bucket List…… Thanks, John 5….. And Thanks Alice ( Vince ) and Rob for all the years of enjoyment you have given us…….

Love them both and when they toured together it was a shock rockers wet dream but i have to give the edge to the originator, the original master of the macabre ALICE COOPER and i think Rob would give it to him too.

  • ALICE COOPER I’ve seen him 3 times and he gets better with each show!
