Listen To Alice Cooper’s Version of Eleanor Rigby from Upcoming McCartney Album

SOURCE: ROCK 107

mccartneyThe star-packed Paul McCartney tribute album, The Art of McCartney, won’t be released until November 18, but you can already preview a number of tracks from the project online.  A video featuring Alice Cooper‘s full cover of The Beatles‘ “Eleanor Rigby” premiered on Monday morning exclusively at USAToday.com, while several clips of other songs have been posted on the album’s official website and YouTube channel.

Alice’s version of the classic 1966 song sounds very similar to the Fab Four’s original rendition, with the shock-rocker singing mournfully while accompanied by a string section. The video includes footage of Cooper singing the tune in the studio. If you pre-order the album at The Art of McCartney‘s official website theartofmccartney.com, you’ll receive a free digital download of the track. Alice also recorded a version of the McCartney solo song “Smile Away” for the project; it appears as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the album.
